Privacy Policy

How we collect, store, and protect your data on the Fursuit Database.

What We Store

The Furry Database keeps the information the site needs to work. Public content means the fursuit, builder, fursona and event entries you submit, along with their photos, descriptions and links. Account details mean your email address, display name and role. Activity data means the watchlists, event alerts, travel group memberships and preferences tied to your account. Photos you upload for an entry are stored so that entry can display them.

Account Security

Your email address is used to sign you in, verify your account and help you recover it. Passwords are hashed and are never stored in readable form. We do not sell your email address, and it is never displayed on the site; only the display name you choose appears alongside your contributions.

Public and Private Information

Approved fursuit, builder, fursona and event entries are visible to everyone, including visitors who are not signed in. Your email address, account role and settings stay private. Anything you choose to publish — for example a Discord handle or a social link on your profile — becomes public, and you can change or remove it from your profile at any time.

Signing In Through Another Service

You can sign in with Google, Microsoft or Discord instead of a password. That provider confirms your identity and shares a limited profile with us, typically your email address and name. If you connect Discord, we store the account identifier, username and avatar so your profile can show the connection; disconnecting removes those details.

Reviews, Claims and Moderation

Entries are checked by moderators before they appear on the site, and records may be edited, merged or removed when they are inaccurate, duplicated or against our guidelines. Builder profiles can be claimed by the person or studio behind them, and a verification badge is only granted on evidence an admin has reviewed.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect your session. Your browser's local storage remembers practical choices, such as dismissing this notice and the items on your watchlist. Google Analytics measures visits and popular pages in aggregate, and Google AdSense advertising may set its own cookies or device identifiers. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, although signing in will not work without the essential ones.

How Long We Keep Data

Public entries stay in the database until a moderator or the person who submitted them removes them. Account data is kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it at any time.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to see the personal data we hold about you, have inaccurate information corrected, have your data deleted, or receive a copy of what you contributed. Get in touch to exercise any of these rights.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy as the site's features change. The date shown at the top of the page records the latest revision, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Contact
