Assistant Help
How to talk to Scout, what he can look up, and the answers to the questions members ask most.
What Scout can do
Find a fursuit
Describe a suit by species, colour, owner or maker, and Scout searches the database and links you to the profile.
Shortlist builders
Ask for makers by species, country, price or queue length, and Scout returns the profiles that match with the details that matter.
Plan around events
Ask what is coming up in a region or a month, and Scout pulls upcoming events from the calendar with dates and locations.
Explain the database
Need to know how submissions, verification or the watchlist work? Scout points you at the right page.
How to use it
- 1
Sign in
Scout chats with members who have an account, so conversations stay attached to a real person. Creating one is free.
- 2
Look for Scout
He sits in the bottom-right corner of every page. The Help button beside him always brings you back to this guide.
- 3
Ask in your own words
Something like “who builds realistic wolf partials in Europe?” is enough. There is no special syntax to learn.
- 4
Keep the thread going
Scout remembers the conversation, so follow-ups such as “which of those is cheapest?” work naturally.
Tips for better answers
- Name what you care about: species, region, budget, or a builder you already have in mind.
- Ask one thing at a time. Follow-up questions get sharper answers than one giant request.
- Spot a record that is out of date? Open the profile and use Report Issue, that is how the data stays accurate.
- Prefer a full page with your earlier conversations? Use the Assistant page.
What Scout will not do
Scout answers from public records only. He cannot see your private details or other members' conversations, cannot submit, edit or claim records for you, and will say so when he does not know rather than inventing an answer. Every answer is a starting point: check the profile it links to before relying on it.
